We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available, both client-facing and behind the scenes. We welcome solo volunteers, groups, middle school students accompanied by an adult and high school students.

Below is a list of the volunteer positions available along with a description of each. Once you have a found a position(s) that fits your interests, please fill out the form to the right. Check the boxes for the area(s) in which you might be interested in serving. Our Volunteer Coordinator will be in contact with you soon to set up a time to show you around and explain more about opportunities to serve.

Volunteer Position Descriptions

Note: All volunteers are trained before being given the link to sign up for any volunteer slots. Volunteers can sign up as often as they would like. We do not require a regular schedule or minimum commitment.

In-Person Volunteer Opportunities: Needed during open hours (Wednesdays and Fridays, 2 p.m.-5 p.m.).

• Trinkets to Treasures Lead

  • Duties:

    • Share a pre-written, brief Biblical message with guests, along with a trinket they take home to remind them of the message

    • Be comfortable interacting with guests (friendly smile and some conversation)

  • Other Details:

    • Volunteer may sit or stand 

    • Many guests do not speak English. Volunteers use a device (provided) to play the message in the guest’s language

• Receptionist/Greeter

  • Duties:

    • Greet guests with a friendly smile and warm greeting

    • Check guests in using our online software.

    • Log diaper packs given away using a Google spreadsheet

  • Other Details:

    • Fast-paced environment (high volume of guests)

    • Volunteer will sit

Weekly Behind-the-Scenes Volunteer Opportunities: Can be done any day/any time once trained

• Sort Clothes/Toys/Donations

  • Duties:

    • Sort donations of clothes, toys, and other items

  • Other Details:

    • Must be able to go up and down stairs (once you are upstairs,  you can stay upstairs until you are done)

    • Does not work directly with guests

    • Opportunity can be done alone or as a team

    • This position requires ability to stand, walk and reach

  • Committment

    • Flexible opportunity. Pick your day/time.

    • Expect to volunteer 1 hour minimum but no more than 3 hours at a time.

• Rack Clothes

  • Duties:

    • Hang clothes and other items for display in the “Blessing Room”

    • This position requires ability to stand, walk and reach. Volunteers must be able to go up and down two sets of stairs multiple times

    • Racks must be filled before the next open hours

  • Other Details:

    • `Does not work directly with guests

    • Can be done alone or as a team

  • Committment

    • Flexible opportunity. Pick your day/time.

    • Most shifts take 1-3 hours depending on amount of items

• Sweep/Mop Floors

  • Duties:

    • Sweep/Mop floors in the Main Room, Blessing Room, entryway and stairs. (Optional: Upstairs sorting room)

  • Other Details:

    • Cleaning tools/products provided

    • Does not work directly with guests

• Package Diapers/Wipes: We provide nearly 350 packs of diapers/wipes each week.

  • Duties:

    • Assemble packages of diapers and wipes for guests

  • Other Details:

    • Volunteer will primarily sit for this opportunity

    • Volunteer should be detail oriented and accurate

  • Commitment:

    • Flexible opportunity. Pick your day/time and how long you stay (can take 30 minutes to 3 hours if preferred)

    • Volunteer can expect to

    • Can be done alone or as a team. Great opportunity for kids.

Other Opportunities Requiring Special Skills::

• Technology Advisor: This role would assist us in streamlining our processes.

  • Advise leadership team about possible systems we could use to organize and track donations, guests, giveaways and more!

• Communications/Advertising Back-Up: This role would serve as a backup to our current communications lead.

  • Create posts for Facebook using Canva

  • Create quarterly newsletter (one for volunteers and one for church partners/subscribers)

  • Create seasonal marketing items including fliers, cards, postcards and more

• Financial Administrator Back-Up: This role would serve as a backup to our current treasurer/financial administrator.

  • LIST TASKS

• Fundraising Lead: We are a non-profit organization that relies solely on donations. This role would develop and execute fundraising efforts.

• Decorating Lead: Help us beautify our space seasonally.

  • Decorate bulletin boards seasonally

  • Decorate Main Room seasonally
